I'm an eighth generation Georgian with ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War. I love our country and our beautiful state!
I was a 911 operator at 17 and an emergency medical technician at 19 because I wanted to help others more than anything. This entry into the workforce made me love first responders and that is why I will never defund the police or public safety.
My love of learning is lifelong. Starting college at 18, I received my associates degree from Georgia Military College at age 25, my bachelors degree at age 43 from Clayton State University, and my masters from the University of Alabama at age 46 all while working. I am proud of my public school and collegiate experiences. Even though my journey was slow, it happened! Along the way, Mark & I raised our family. We have been married for 31 years and he is my best friend, greatest ally, and rock.
In 2006, I became a Realtor helping people find their homes and havens- a place to build their stories. In the past 16 years, I have been privileged to help people right here in our District make the dream of home ownership a reality. Additionally, Mark & I have a small antiques business and love going to auctions and estate sales all over the Southeast. Of course, our family farm, Mar-Be-Me Farm, is home. We love our beef cows, guineas, and miniature donkey, Yoder.
Building relationships and credibility is how to get at least 90 other people to vote YES (or NO) on legislation that matters to us in Lamar, Pike & Spalding. I am a proven leader who FIGHTS for Georgia!
As a 30 year resident of Spalding & Pike counties, I care deeply about this community. We raised our daughter here- and I appreciate the people who have made a positive impact on my family.
That’s why I am honored to serve as a member of the CASA board in the Griffin Judicial Circuit and participate in helping organization.
As the only GMC alumni currently serving in the Georgia General Assembly, it was an honor to be appointed by Speaker Burns as a member of the Georgia Military College Advisory Board in 2024.
At the 2025 NCSL Conference in Boston, I was nominated and voted in as a member of the NCSL Executive Board.
